Dr. Lisa L. Koenig is a board certified and licensed chiropractor and certified by the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) as an applied kinesiologist; she has twenty years of experience working in health and wellness. Dr. Lisa has also completed over 900 hours of study in applied kinesiology post-certification, and she was an ICAK teaching assistant for five years, helping train doctor and students. Additionally, she integrates complementary healing modalities into her practice including massage, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Neuro-Emotional Technique, Total Body Modification, and nutrition.
Given her breadth of knowledge and experience, Dr. Lisa is able to promote healing for a wide variety of clients, addressing numerous health issues. She works with people suffering from emotional trauma and physical violence, sciatica, vertigo/dizziness, migraines, autoimmune and Lyme diseases, as well as less severe physical ailments and mental and emotional challenges. She also specializes in treating infertility, having helped almost eighty patients fulfil the dream of parenthood. Coupled with that, she has a strong neonatal practice. And she has worked with people ranging in age from newborn—addressing conditions such as GERD, torticollis, and latching, as well as general care—to 80.
As a volunteer, Dr. Lisa treated homeless and underprivileged clients at The Suitcase Clinic in Berkeley, and she currently runs her private practice, Kinetic Chiropractic, which she established in 2004 in Oakland, California.
But her practice doesn’t stop with humans! Passionate about animals, Dr. Lisa also has over ten years of experience as a certified veterinary chiropractor. She currently provides her healing services at Holistic Veterinary Care, also in Oakland. Dr. Lisa primarily treats cats and dogs, but she also has experience with horses and rabbits; she’s even treated a rooster! Issues Dr. Lisa’s work addresses range from pain caused by injury or arthritis to internal medical conditions such as urinary/fecal incontinence, constipation, chronic ear problems, seizures, and behavioral disorders related to pain, among others.
Dr. Lisa grew up in Dix Hills, N.Y., and has always been interested in helping others. It was after earning her degree in accounting and also seeing her mother return to a pain-free life through chiropractic treatments after experiencing five slipped discs that she entered the health field. She loves the process of discovering the best path to well-being for each of her clients, as well as instilling in them a deeper body awareness so that they have the tools to help themselves thrive.
